IMPORTANT! Oppose the Orphan Works Act Currently, copyright is granted the moment a work is created. This new Orphan Works legislation proposes a change in U.S. copyright that would (indirectly) require artists, illustrators, photographers, and any creative individual to actively maintain and defend their copyright by registering each and every work with privatized registrars. Failure to do so would leave everything you’ve ever created as an artist up for grabs by anyone who wanted to copy, reproduce, create derivative works of, or flat out steal your work since the act defines an “orphan work” as any work where the author is unidentifiable or unlocatable, and applies to both published and unpublished works, U.S. and foreign, regardless of age. This interview with illustrator Brad Holland explains the effects of the Orphan Works Act. Paintings are currently on view through 2008 at Queen's Pizzeria in downtown Mesa AZ. Queens
Cafe & Pizzeria Show at Windup Gallery
I will be having a show to open up Windup Gallery's new art space and cafe across the street from the gallery. The cafe is located in a very old building that used to be a gallery. The space is fantastic, and the paintings will be hung against the old red brick walls of the building. I will also be doing one of the artist's tables that will be at the cafe. The paintings will be on display from November 15th through December. The cafe is open 7am - 3pm Mon - Fri and 8am - 2pm Sat. Queens
